چکیده

Background: A crucial step in modifying the course of lupus nephritis is early identification kidney disease systemic patients. Lupus affects around 30% to 60% SLE patients and 70% juvenile SLE. Renal biopsy, which an invasive procedure with hazards, considered gold standard diagnose Nephritis. Ceruloplasmin (CP) acute phase protein that transports most circulating copper functions as iron oxidase associated metabolism, has been found urinary exosomal increased diseases due local tissue pro-inflammatory cytokines such TNF-a, IL-6, IL-1a. this study aimed evaluate utility ceruloplasmin a new biomarker differentiate from non-nephritis, correlation activity. Patients Methods: Case control included sixty thirty controls. The case group subdivided into 30 (LN) & Non-nephritis (NN) following were measured: CBC, ESR urine analysis, Ceruloplasmin, serum creatinine, 24-hr urine, eGFR (MDRD Equation), C3&C4, Anti-dsDNA, ANA. Results: Elevated levels higher than controls by further stratification; be greater non-nephritis group, also, have significant positive activity, duration, negative eGFR, C3&C4 Conclusion: Urinary potentiality non-nephritis.

TWEAK: a novel biomarker for lupus nephritis?

Renal involvement is common in systemic lupus erythematosus. Early diagnosis of lupus nephritis (LN), allowing the instigation of appropriate therapy, remains an important clinical challenge. Current biomarkers in clinical practice are less than ideal, lacking both sensitivity and specificity. In the previous issue of Arthritis Research & Therapy, Schwartz and colleagues demonstrated the potent...

Urinary neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin as a novel biomarker for disease activity in lupus nephritis.

OBJECTIVES Clinical and laboratory markers in current use have limited specificity and sensitivity for predicting the development of renal disease in lupus patients. In this longitudinal study, we investigated whether urinary neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (uNGAL) predicts active nephritis and renal flares in lupus patients with and without a history of biopsy-proven lupus nephritis...

Association of Urinary Lipocalin-2 with Lupus Nephritis

Objective(s): Lupus nephritis (LN) is the main cause of mortality and disability in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients. Therefore, utilizing a reliable and non-invasive method for serial measurements of renal function seems to be necessary. The aim of this study was to evaluate the role of urinary lipocalin-2 as a biomarker of renal involvement in SLE patients.   Materi...

Neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin as a biomarker for lupus nephritis.

BACKGROUND One of the challenges of treating patients with lupus nephritis (LN) is to accurately assess disease activity and predict its outcome. Since renal-biopsy cannot be performed routinely, new surrogate biomarkers are needed. METHODS We evaluated neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL), to predict renal outcome in LN. Serum and urinary NGAL levels, measured by the enzyme-link...

Biomarker Profiling for Lupus Nephritis

Lupus nephritis (LN) is one of the most severe manifestations of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), which is associated with significant morbidity and mortality of SLE patients. The pathogenesis of LN involves multiple factors, including genetic predisposition, epigenetic regulation and environmental interaction. Over the last decade, omics-based techniques have been extensively utilized for b...
